WOYWW 78- 8th December 2010

Morning Bloggers, ooh it's still so cold. I really do not like this weather. My favourite time is the spring with all the flowers popping up and new life. I like Christmas but not the cold. Well I am still making Christmas cards. I have been so busy at work. I work for an Estate Agent and of course it's the time of the year when everyone seems to have a heating problem and the clients are all phoning up with them and of course it's mainly me who has to sort them all out - headache's.Well that's off my chest now. Today on my desk is a couple of Whiff of Joy stamps, I really love WOJ they are one of my favourite stamps. My desk is quite busy - messy to some of you. I have also been using stencils with gold leaf and you can see some stamping up cards. I have to do about another 50 cards don't know where the time has gone and next week is my Sons' Birthday and have to get him something he said he wants a coat. Well
if you want to see other desks, go to Julia who started this and you will see lovely creations from over 150 people now.
Take care and keep warm. Lots of love and Hugs. JO.xxxx

Christening Card

Good morning everyone, not a very nice day. Did you remember to put the clocks back. Well I made a couple of cards on Friday night and finished them off last night because the Christening one had to go this morning.Happy Christening day Daniele.

Very Simple. Bought the cross off Ebay ages ago just put 4 Swarovski crystals on it. Used a scroll Martha Stewart around the page. Wild orchid flowers and ribbon from my stash. the Christening Word is an Old PSX stamp, I've a few of these  because they were so elegant. the Scrolls on their stamps were beautiful. Shame they went out of business. The Card was a Craftwork card blue smooth which again I have had for ages. I do like Craftwork cards.  My other card is one for the Aunty of the boy who is getting Christened today. Her Birthday is a day before mine.
Sorry it's a little light, but the light wasn't good for taking photo's. Used one again Martha stewart punches and a lovely LOTV present fairy. Coloured her in greeny copics, Ellie loves green. Used a Doily once again from Ally Pally, wish I could remember the Co. I bought them from. Coloured it with Distress inks. Used the blossom Nestie and another Craftwork Card basic cardstock. Used Green ribbon from stash.  Well I am off now to go pick my Darling Mama up, whoopee she's going to stay with me for a week. Hugs and Love to all have a lovely Sunday. Jo.xxxx

Quick Cards Made Easy.

Afternoon Bloggers, Hope you have had a nice day, its getting dark now but still warm - good don't like cold. Here is a card I made as a thank you to Sarah Bostock, who is the editor of Quick Cards made Easy. I subscribe to this magazine on and off when I can afford it. Well my last issue 80 went missing and I emailed Sarah Bostock and she emailed me back straight away, asked for my address and within two days I had issue 80 and a few little gifts as well - How kind was that, so I asked her permission if I could blog the card I made for her so here it is:-
It was made with a lace doily I bought at Ally Pally, few Roses from Wild Orchid Crafts Martha Stewart Butterfly punch and Craftwork cards Shaped card. I think the background is papermania Rose Garden. Again my trustee copics were used. Oops nearly forgot The lovely cat is a LOTV as if you bloggers don't already know.

I did do a lovely class with the Wonderful Kay Carley on Saturday, but oh my goodness I just couldn't colour grey and black for hair and Dress so didn't finish my card, Kay was so kind she gave me a copy of one she did so I can practise - Thank you Kay.  When I am happy with them I will put them on myt blog to show you. You should go and have a look at Kays blog its amazing. My Watermark I have put on my picture,  if I haven't already said is from the talented Christine Dark another amazing woman. I just love these two women, so different in their styles and both so creative.
Have a nice evening everyone, God Bless, love and Hugs JO.xxx

WHATS ON YOUR WORKDESK WEDNESDAY.

Good morning Bloggers, late this morning. Well I have been not been blogging for a little while if you had seen my earlier post you will know the reason, so don't want to ramble on again.
Well I'm back, WOYWW is all down to Julia who has about 150 or more people joining in looking at each others desk/floors or wherever they can craft. It's fun but you have to have patience if you want to go and see everyone.
Today I have a lot of bits and pieces on my desk
I'm in the process of deciding what my friends and Peters friends christmas card are going to be like. I have just bought some new punches from Tracy at diestodiefor and another Marianne D snowflake one. Tracy always sends you a little parcel of die cuts of other punches she has, so kindxx I have a pink tin with a Quickutz font - Roxy, some inkpads, a good find are the back pin for brooches which I got two for a £1 at a place called Tiger. couple of cherubs flying around, got years ago from Clarity stamps love them. A little rose corsage so that I remember how to do them. Showing also is my lovely matchbox I made with Carole Cann from the Craftbarn.
I'ts taken me all morning to upload my picture as I think blogger is doing some adjustments.
Have fun and I hope to visit as many as I can. Love to all JO.xxx

A Sympathy Card for One of My Daughter's Best Friends Mother.

Afternoon everyone, my mouth is much better so didn't bother with Doctor will go and see the Dentist later in the week. I'm off today and I made a card for my Daughter Rachel as one of her best Friends mother has passed away a couple of days ago, its so sad I have known Jane and her mum for a long time and Jane had moved to Australia and her Mum had cancer a few years back and was on remission then it came back with a vengence, poor Jane came over in the summer and was pregnant but had to go home to have her baby in Australia and Came back on Thursday, to discover her mother had passed away as she landed. It's so heartbreaking.

I made this card for her with a Dreamweaver stencil and white pearlescent paste covered each piece with  different coloured glitter with a short pointed straw - trick I learnt from Carol Cockbain. The saying is from an Inkadinkadoo stamp. Again used my little glass beads. I used distress inks on the page to give it a warm feel and made two little bows.

I would like to Thank Christine Dark for my watermark, Christine thank you so much and I still cannot do it correctly !
Well I will end here Lots of Love to all and take care. Hugs JO.xxxx

Boss and Girlfriends Cards.

Morning Bloggers, feel better today had a good sleep and my mouth abcess has gone down, but will go and see doctor then dentist so that I don't get further infections.

Well here are two cards I made on the quick, not as good as I would normally do but considering events not bad. The above one is for my Boss who is Dog mad and the stamps are from a QVC kit in a little black bag  which is so cute. Holds 11 pkts of stamps and was well worth the buy, also a stamping block and inkpad I bought a month ago. The background paper says October and it was from a download I got from Funky Fairies who are no longer trading it was all the months and it comes in very handy. The bottom paper is another download off of Pink Petticoat  called lots of dots. Black Bazzil card and shapes cut with Nesties.

This one again cut with a Marriane D Creatables bought from the CraftBarn Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch and another QVC stamp from the above collection, again used the October month paper download. The back paper is another Pink Petticoat download little Harlequin. These papers are so nice and cheap, you can also get a dvd of your own personal choice which is good then you do not overload your computer with extra downloads. Used my copics and distress inks and lots of glitter and little ice beads is what I call them because they're made of glass and had them ages so don't remember where I got them from.

My back up worked so now I can be a little bit less stressed!
Well thats all for now, have a good Sunday. Lots of love and hugs. JOxxxx

Alive and Kicking.

Afternoon Bloggers. I am still around but a bit poorly. I haven't blogged for about 3 weeks, due to work and not feeling the ticket.  I had a problem with my small intestine now sorted and now have an abscess on my tooth - probably a bit run down.  As I type Peter my other half is going to get me some things until I can go to see a doctor on Monday. Still no luck with the house, it seems nobody wants to buy just rent at the moment.
While I am typing this behind the scenes I am backing my computer up as it seems to be going funny lately and I have a lot of photo's that I don't want to lose. I bought a time capsule and its taken me all morning to set it up even phoning apple and being cut off and then got a nice gentleman who took me through it all and it finally communicated with my mac.  I have done a couple of cards which I will load up tomorrow when I feel a bit better.

Be back tomorrow love and hugs to all. Jo.xxxx

WOYWW68

Morning Bloggers. Another whats on your workdesk Wednesday. Morning dew on the cars, it's getting a bit chilly in the mornings. I have been a little busy girl - like that word made a start on my Christmas cards and did a little bit of shopping. If your wondering what I'm wittering about, go to the lovely Julia's blog and you can see all the other WOYWW I think it's gone over 159 well that's a lot of desks to snoop over. Blogger was being bad last week, on a lot of posts kept getting error code when you type in a few comments and then blogger didn't want to co-operate it's a little daunting, so I'm sorry that I didn't get around to everyone.

Well this is whats on my workdesk. Two Christmas cards - Sarah look I said I would start. The cardstock is from StampinUp as well as the stamps. I got these from Monica Gale she had them on her blog so I had to get them. I have some new stamps, two from Penny Black which I got from a Cardmaking company for joining them and the other with the lady is from Inkadinkadoo which I got from Lavenderlane crafts in Stoneleigh. I do have a few other stamps on my desk from stamps away I think which I got from Ally Pally a few years ago, so they have come out as they have Christmas Messages. Tinkerbell pencil case I just adore Tinkerbell, which holds my copic spica pens because you have to store them horizontal apparantely.
I did make a card for Peters friend who is retiring on Friday and of course he said to me at the last minute make a card for me. Here it is a bit simple but hey he's only a man he he.
Bazzil bling cardstock navy and light blue sorry don't know colours have had them ages. Words cut out from from Go-Kreate -Lingfield alphabet. Nestie fancy die cut, embellishment from a pack from Personnel Impressions I won ages ago with lots of other men papers - came in handy eh. Chelsea topper from stash have had for ages. Happy retirement wording from woodware think its Francoise Reeds words. Well I don't want to bore you all to death. So have a lovely day and Big hugs to all. JO xxxx

WOYWW67

Good Morning, not a nice day today, damp and dingy. Thank you all that sent me such kind wishes, my sore throat was a little better next day but lost my voice a bit. Still managed to get to the Craftbarn for their weekend of demo's. Went on Saturday and chatting to some lovely people. Kay Carley, Christine Dark, Helen Chilton who was such a funny person, Liz Welch etc. There were quite a few tables I went to but didn't chat they were so busy and such marvelous works being done. Of course I bought a few Goodies, such as a few Copic pens that I didn't have, some shrink plastic I thought I would have a go at. Anyway you want to know whats on my work desk ha ha.
As you can see I am in the process of making a couple of Birthday cards. I downloaded a Pink Petticoat Lola for my friend and I am going to colour her in with promarkers,  I usually do copics but as I had these from ages ago I thought I would give them a try. I cut out a nice shape with the Marianne Design Die. I am also going to do a couple of Christmas cards this week, I can see my friend Sarah saying yeah pigs might fly, I say to her every year I am going to start early so Sarah watch this space he he.
The little cat with her christmas hat is an old Hero's Art stamp I had for yonks so thought I might do a couple of easy cards with her, I say her because it looks so cute. Well that's enough of me rambling on go and look at all the other desks and especially the lady herself who started this Julia the numbers are increasing every week. Bye for now and have a lovely day Lots of love and Hugs JO. xxxx

WOYWW66

GOOD Morning Bloggers, another day and I'm off and so I can blog to my hearts content after I have done the usual chores, cleaning changing bed linen washing you know the drill. Enough she says. I really didn't have time last week as said in my previous post. But this is what's on my desk this morning. I started last night after the grandchildren had gone to bed. It's the start of a 40th Birthday card using Master of Arts Tim Holtz Swirls, and also Quickutz swirls and Quickutz letters.

I did see on a blog ages ago a circle made with swirls and I am trying to do something a little different but with the letters Mum inside. I will add some delightful Wild Orchid flowers and see how it goes. I have just received my new toy the Holder for my applicator tools. Oops my camera case is showing.

Well I do hope you have a good day you will have to pop over to the lady herself who started this craze which has been fantastic. The one and only Julia Dunnit. I'm now off to have a nosey. Lots of love JO.xxx

Birthday card

Evening bloggers, sorry have been absent for over a week. Had loads to do at work showing flats as the season for Post grad etc now looking for places to stay before their term starts. Had a nice relaxing day on Sunday so caught up and made a few cards. One I will show you later when the recipient has received it.
This one is for my sister Irene who's Birthday is next Monday, already posted. Made with Martha Stewart Punch around the page Square nestie and Wild Orchid Crafts roses with another Martha Stewart Punch. I think the stamp is a Mo Manning from the Craftbarn

The next one is for my friend who is only 43 and has had a stroke doctors said it was the heat and sent her home only for her to go next day with her face dropped on one side !
This one was made with a lovely LOTV stamp and again Martha Stewart Punch, don't you just adore her Punches. Nesties were used again, the paper background was from the Nitwit collection at the Craftbarn. The message is from a set from Whiff of Joy.

This one is for one of my best buddies. Cathy has a birthday on Sunday, I know she will not see this as her internet has gone down.
This was again made with another Martha Stewart Punch around the page, butterflies. This is probably one of my  favourites. Again Wild Orchid flowers. The Stamp is one of the tea cup girls from the Craftbarn called Tabitha. She reminds me so much of Cathy when she was much younger.  Oh I forgot, all the colouring has been done with copics, still getting used to them, but do love them. The green around the circle is velvet papers from Sie I bought from QVC. Have to show you the inside.
The Stamp inside is a Penny Black I have had for ages but it really is so useful. Well I hope I can blog tomorrow as its WOYWW and I so missed last week going on everyones blog and being nosey.

I have the Grandchildren staying tonight, so will try and make another card when they have gone to bed its for Peters friend who's wife is 40 and its got to be done by Thursday and lots going through my head. Well If you have come to the end of this without closing, I thank you and hope you all have a wonderful evening. Love and Hugs Jo.xx

Good Morning Bloggers, What funny old weather we are having, rains like cats and dogs one minute then lovely sunshine, is this our summer gone. Well today is nosey day, where we get to see WOYWW. Well I was quite pleased with myself last week got to everyone I think it was 150., I did 75 on Wednesday and finished the rest on Thursday Friday and Saturday morning. As in my previous post I have not made any cards but I was attempting to colour in some elephants, my sister has a thing about elephants.

The one on the left was a sample I did with Jane Coleman last year. As you can see still not quite getting there. Next to the elephants, is a little notebook I made with Tim Holtz paper from his pack I just love this pack and it sure goes a long way. The little flower again is one of the ones my granddaughter made a couple of weeks ago for me, I coated it with some mica and gun arabic to make it nice and shiny. Well not a lot from me today.
Well I best end here. Now you will have to go to our Queen Julia who started this all off

Weekend of Fun

Good Morning everyone, what a horrid night, poured and poured of rain. Hope everyones gutters are ok. - Good for the gardens. Well, had my sister Babs come to stay for the weekend and a little surprise my Grand-daughter came on Saturday. Babs like myself loves card making and this was the first opportunity for her to make cards with me since Christmas.  I didn't get to make any but Babs did as I was showing her different techniques as it is very hard for her to get to classes.. My Grand-daughter Francesca also likes to make card, she made two but I forgot to take pictures of them. Here's Francesca

Isn't she just gorgeous, Francesca will be 13 in November. Now here is the two cards out of the 3 my sister made - Again I forgot to take a photo of the 3rd one as I was getting tired ....lol.
Here we used Tim Holtz die and I was showing her how to distress backgrounds. The cuttlebug folder and nesties were used.

This was using the Craftwork cards Japanese dolls
and a circular template. The back was embossed with one of the new Asian cuttlebug folders and the Blossom nestie was used. Hope you like them - I think a good time was had I know I'm exhausted so will try and start making a few cards for upcoming birthdays in September I think there's six and I really don't know how bloggers who have to make cards for companies and make their own cards get the time phew !!! Well Hope the day is a good one and will try and upload some of my own I hope to make soon. Lots of love to all JO.xxxx

WOYWW63

Morning Bloggers. Not a lot today, made a nice card for Peters friend at work, her sister is going to be 50 and wanted a black and white card, you think thats easy until you start. I started this way that way Oh my what a headache cut different types of flowers, then got some already made ones. Well this is what I ended up with. Made with Craftwork cards glitz and glamour paper. Circle Message. Take a look at the top left side flower, you know those little polymer clay moulds that my granddaughter made for me last week its one of them with Tim Holts glitter stickles all over it called - wait for it -Tiara how cool is that. Its an easel card, I'm still not good at taking photos so excuse. The little sister cutout is from Sizzix, the large flower is part of Tim Holtz flower die. He sure does get about. Well this is my desk after :-

I have been looking after my two daughters dogs this week, the little one is a Pomeranian who is a little jealous of the big one who is a Rottweilla who is a bit soft and believe me I don't like big dogs but she has changed my mind what a lovely dog. They have taken most of my time up this week.

The Rottweilla is Zena and the
Pomeranian is Naughty Boo.

Thought you might like to see them, Boo had gone home but is back today and Darling Zena goes on Friday, must say she is moulting so much have to hoover and wash floors twice a day. Well thats enough for me so will end here and don't forget to pop over to the wonderful Julia's blog to see what's going on with the rest of the WOYWW Bloggers. WOYWW 62

Morning Everyone, well the heavens are open again, good for the plants. Well a few pictures of my desk today as I am doing a few cards, but thought I would stamp some images and colour them in with distress inks, and copic so here they are
These are LOTV stamps. The folder is an idea I got from Paula  Pascual who I met at the Craft barn on Saturday she puts all her cuttlebug and other embossing folder s on a tag and then she does marvelous things to them like cosmic shimmers mica powders etc.

These are Stamping bella stamps which you can get from the Craftbarn.
This is the distress inks ready to use with their applicators and that Penny Black cat has sneaked in.
These are polymer clay made from moulds which my Granddaughter made for me when she was here last week making a batch of words to make plaques for her friends. I am going to colour them in, then put mica and other
colourings on them so watch this space ha ha.
If you are still with me I have one more picture to show. I have to thank two bloggers last week as they put me in touch with two companies that do the large ATG Guns.Their names are Kaz and Jo These two ladies are very talented. On Kaz's blogg she has lovely units for your distress pads. On Jo's blogg she done a wonderful concertina file. Thank you ladies.
Can you see the ATG gun ? The company was 3m and they delivered next day !!!
Well before you nod off. Please go and see Julia's blog, again a very talented lady who started this and you get to chat to lots of cyber friends. Well have a good WOYWW day bloggers will be back soon Lots of Love Jo.xx

Craftbarn with Christine Dark.

Good evening Bloggers. I was at the Craftbarn yesterday, poor Sandy and her staff they were doing their best to clean up the Shop after the Fire they had on Monday night. The paper room was open in the afternoon. I was booked on a class with Christine Dark, but they had to cancel the morning one and we did the afternoon class on top of the Browsers Cafe - never been up there before. It was okay, poor Christine did try her best because the lighting wasn't that good there were lots of tables and chairs up there because I think it must be for meetings etc.  We must not moan as it was kind of them to let us have the room otherwise the class would have been cancelled. Christine really bumped her head before we started and was a little dazed but what a trouper carried on. We managed two cards One was an Easel card made with Basic grey papers, nice colours for boys. It was one of the Green baby stamps from Stamping Bella called Noah and his computer. It was made from a Nestie folded over so it cut through two bits of card so that was folded 1/2 way on itself We did a little swing card with another Green baby stamp called Jackson the Champion.

Hope you like them. Have a nice evening all. Lots of love Jo. xxx

Thursday 5 August 2010

Birthday card

Good Evening all a bit late, but here's the other card I made for Edwards girlfriend from me. I used the Whiff of Joy girl, used copics which I just adore but still have to get used to them. The big flower is from Magnolia and the little ones from my stash. The sentiment is from Craftwork cards as is the circle, also the card. I used the nesties label 10. Grosgrain ribbon from stash.
On another note, still no luck with the sale, its so frustrating having to keep the house really tidy and spotless it tires you before the day starts.
If you go on to Bevs blog she has a really fantastic blog candy I really wish I could win it, lovely pens, stamps and a rare punch from SU. Well you wonderful bloggers its goodnight from me and will try and speak again in a couple of days you never know might have a buyer please, pretty please.
Lots of love to all Jo. xxx

Kay carley class at the Craft Barn.

Good afternoon, what a glorious day, been looking after the grand children, washing and tidying up the home so while they are watching cbbc I have 5 minutes lol.  I was at the Craftbarn with the wonderful Kay carley and had a nice surprise, her hair was a different colour and when I walked in the room didn't notice it was her !! Well Kay its lovely.
In the morning we made two cards with Kays own flitters and flutters stamps. Made our own background using distress inks again, also copics and lots of spica  colour pens and stickles glue.

In the afternoon we made another two cards again with Kays own stamps swirley flutters and florals- phew which I own both sets otherwise that would have cost me a pretty penny- Mind you, you get a lot of stamps for your money.
Again we made our own background and stamped words and flourishes. We had a ribbon which we coloured to match the flowers. Nesties were used which Kay kindly had prepared for us all.  Hope you like them.  Well have a nice evening the grandchildren have got bored, now want a DVD on - suggested Brad Pitt but got boos well from the young grandson Gabriel, but yes from granddaughter Francesca. Was hoping to put my little cats on the blog to show but another day.  Lots of Love and Hugs to all.

Tidy or what.

Good morning ladies and gents. Lovely bright gorgeous day again. As you can see I had a good tidy up and mostly everything is in their place. My work table has a few things on it to do - yeah you say, but I have got to finish them by Friday. I started on the Christening card. Firstly I will show you my desk and return. I am using A WS design template of a church. The cute baby is a LOTV baby stamp. The little dress  I cut out from vellum and added pearls and coloured in with copics for the leaves, flowers and face, also glitter glue. Its now just a matter of assembling. I embossed the door and window frames in Gold detail embossing powder. You see that cute cat stamp, its going to be made into a card today as I am off looking after the grandchildren and they can make a card good excuse eh to get on with mine. The boxes mounted up on the side has all the little embellishments and the lovely cupcake boxes on the left have my unmounted stamps  one is LOTV, one has Stamping bella, and the flowery one has crafty individuals and girly stamps in.
Doors shutting
Cute baby - oh must colour the window pane.
Well I'm off now to look at other peoples blogs before my grandchildren awake. Lots of love to all
